Two men have been shot dead in Arima.

Around 2:05am, officers responding to a report at a farm off Demerara Road, found the bodies of Kershawn Edwards and Kirmanie Dyer lying in front of a white AD Wagon.

The shooting is believed to have taken place several hours earlier, with relatives claiming that Edwards, Dyer and another man were hunting in a forested area, when they were ambushed and shot.

Loud explosions had been heard around 10:30pm yesterday, however initial checks were unsuccessful.

The third man subsequently showed up wounded and was taken to hospital, while Edwards and Dyer were later found dead.

The incident is believed to be linked to the theft of a white AD wagon, which allegedly belonged to a known drug dealer.
