US says it will not take part in retaliatory strikes on Iran

The White House has reportedly warned Israel that it will not participate in any retaliatory attacks on Iran.

Yesterday, Iran fired of hundreds of missiles into Israel, in response to an attack on its consulate in Syria on April 1st, which it blames on Israel.

Following this, Iran deemed the matter to be concluded, as it maintains that it does not intend to seek allout war across the region.

The country’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said Iran has “no intention of continuing defensive operations” at this point unless it is attacked.

Israel says almost all of the over 300 drones and missiles were shot down by its antimissile defense system, backed by the U.S. and Britain.

Associated Press says the sole reported casualty was a wounded girl in southern Israel, with “light damage” to an Israeli airbase.

Israels War Cabinet held a meeting, with key member Benny Gantz quoted as saying “We will build a regional coalition and collect the price from Iran, in the way and at the time that suits us.

That response however may not include the US, with White House national security spokesman John Kirby reportedly telling NBC “We don’t seek a war with Iran. We’re not looking for escalation here.”
