Despite a massive protest by nurses in Port of Spain at lunchtime today, the Minister of Health says there is no healthcare crisis.

Scores of nurses led by the T&T Registered Nurses Association moved from the Port of Spain Hospital to the Ministry of Health to protest between 11am and 2pm.

Tensions intensified over stagnant salaries, staffing shortages and working conditions.

President of the Association Idi Stuart called on the Minister of Health to address their concerns, or their protests will escalate.

However, in the Parliament, Dr. Lackram Bodoe was asked about government’s plan to alleviate the current health crisis.
