A WASA worker died following an on the job incident in San Fernando today.
The Authority says Kern Etienne was involved in carrying out emergency repair works on a sewer pipeline at a jobsite along the Rienzi Kirton Highway, when he became trapped in the trench.
He was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.
WASA says it is making every effort to provide all the required support to Mr Etienne’s family.
It adds that a full-scale investigation will be conducted by the Authority and the relevant agencies, at which time further information will be made available.
