WASA Chief Executive Officer, Dain Maharaj, accompanied by the Authority’s technical team, visited the home of Ms. Jhumantie Mohammed in Gandhi Village, Debe, to assess reports of persistent water seepage beneath her property.
Ms. Mohammed, who has lived with the issue for over a decade, spoke to the team about the impact on her health, daily life, and the structural integrity of her home.
The WASA team conducted a physical inspection and gathered firsthand information to better understand the situation.
While the exact source of the seepage has not yet been identified, possible causes, including a leaking pipeline or relocated hydrant, are being considered as part of an ongoing technical review.
WASA has assured that the findings from today’s visit will inform the next steps, and the Authority will provide further updates as they become available, demonstrating its commitment to resolving infrastructure issues and supporting affected residents.
