Effective January 5th, approved Vehicle Testing Stations, including VMCOTT, will be authorized to inspect taxis.
These are defined under the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act as vehicles carrying passengers for hire, with a tare weight of up to 2,270 kilograms.
The Transport Ministry also announced that VMCOTT will inspect goods vehicles exceeding 3,200 kilograms Maximum Gross Weight.
However, Public Service Vehicles with a tare weight above 2,270 kilograms must continue to be inspected at Licensing Offices.
