UTT Hosts Ramlila Heritage Symposium to Celebrate Culture and Scholarship

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) will host the opening ceremony of the Ramlila Heritage Symposium: Crafting Community through Culture on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Bisram Gopie Auditorium, NCIC Nagar, Chaguanas.

The symposium aims to bridge scholarship, tradition, and contemporary practice by creating a space for academic and cultural dialogue.

It will feature research presentations, panel discussions, and lectures exploring the historical, social, and spiritual significance of Ramlila, a centuries-old tradition that continues to unite communities across Trinidad and Tobago.

This landmark initiative is being held in partnership with the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, the National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC), the Shiva Gana Organisation, the National Ramleela Council, the High Commission of India, ieTV, and *The Cutlass Magazine.*

Minister of Tertiary Education, Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad, is expected to deliver remarks at the opening ceremony.
