A U.S. Navy destroyer and a supply ship collided during a ship-to-ship refueling operation yesterday afternoon.
The Wall Street Journal initially reported the incident occurred near South America, however according to Reuters, U.S. Southern Command did not specify the location.
Reuters reported that the guided missile destroyer, USS Truxtun, and the fast combat support ship, USNS Supply, were conducting replenishment at sea when the incident occurred.
Officials said two personnel suffered minor injuries and are reported in stable condition, however vessels remain operational.
