An active-duty TTPS officer is now awaiting deportation after being arrested in a joint operation involving US and local authorities.
A release from the US Embassy says he was among three persons held on December 30th by US DEA personnel, supported by a multi-agency TTPS team.
All three are charged in the Eastern District of New York for conspiracy to import cocaine into the US and firearms offenses.
Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro says the TTPS remains resolute in upholding the highest standards of integrity and will ensure that anyone who betrays the public trust is brought to justice.
Meanwhile, US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires, Dr. Jenifer Neidhart de Ortiz, praised the operation as a strong example of US-T&T cooperation.
