The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) today launched Operation Festive Shield—its national security plan to safeguard citizens, businesses, and visitors during the Christmas and Carnival period.
The plan aims to reduce robberies, larceny, and other crimes, while making shoppers, vendors, business operators and commuters safe.
The TTPS said it also aims to reduce traffic, make pedestrians safer, and promotes a rapid police response to incidents.
The TTPS said the operation began in Port of Spain and the Western Division and other police divisions are set to begin their operations in the coming days.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police for Operations said the TTPS is deployed, coordinated and ready for action.
