The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is warning the public about a new wave of online investment scams circulating on Facebook.
According to the TTPS, several pages and advertisements are using the likeness of prominent local figures to promote so-called investment opportunities.
Authorities say these pages and their promises of quick, high returns are fraudulent.
Police advise the public to report suspicious pages to Facebook, and to block and delete them.
Warning signs include AI-generated content, mismatched audio and video, unrealistic profit claims, suspicious links, and pages with very few followers.
The TTPS is urging citizens to stay alert and protect themselves and their loved ones from online scams.
