The Met Service is expecting an early start to this year’s Rainy Season.

It says the outlook for March to May shows that all areas are likely to improve and be free of abnormal dryness in the short term.

Wetter conditions are expected in late March into April and May, where frequent showers are expected.

Additionally, the predicted volume of rainfall in late March-April-May 2024 is likely to replenish soil moisture.

As such, the TTMS says the Rainy Season is expected to start in the second half of May 2024.

The Rainy Season traditionally runs from June to December.
