The T&T Spirit is currently berthed at the Port of Spain Ferry Terminal for technical assessment, following mechanical difficulties yesterday.
A release from the Port Authority said the vessel experienced mechanical difficulties, after debris was drawn into its engines during a voyage to Scarborough.
As a precaution, the ferry was withdrawn from service and returned to Port of Spain.
The Port Authority, working with NIDCO, is maintaining contingency plans to support inter-island ferry operations and assist affected passengers.
