Trinidad and Tobago has confirmed it will receive a $94 million grant from China.
This was announced by the Foreign Affairs Ministry today, following the Prime Minister’s arrival in New York for the UN’s General Assembly.
This aid is expected to fund mutually agreed development projects, under a new Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement.
The grant was finalized following bilateral talks in Port of Spain with China’s Ambassador Ren Hongyan, and further discussions took place at the UN with China’s Vice Foreign Minister.
