Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro says the price of illegal drugs in Trinidad and Tobago has risen due to TT and US crackdowns on regional trafficking.

Recent US military strikes, he says, has had a measurable impact on the flow of illegal narcotics into the country.

With added local police seizures this has created the shortage, driving up street prices.

The Commissioner confirmed efforts are ongoing against local growers and smuggling networks, noting the crackdown has also reduced smuggled wild meat.
