The Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association has raised concerns over the transportation challenges affecting Tobago.

Association vice-president Rene Seepersadsingh says unreliable air and sea transport continues to disrupt business, medical travel, and tourism especially during peak periods.

“The air-bridge and sea-bridge for Tobago is a lifeline. There is no other way to get goods and services between the islands,” Seepersadsingh told CNC3 on Monday.

“I don’t think that any of the governments have paid the level of attention. Billions of dollars are spent on infrastructure in Trinidad and Tobago and the air-bridge and sea-bridge counts as infrastructure. We do need to have that type of attention paid.”

Seepersad called for closer collaboration with the Tobago House of Assembly and transport authorities to ensure consistent, reliable connectivity between the islands.
