The winners of the 2026 Schools National Tassarama Competition and the Schools Intellectual National Carnival Chutney Soca Monarch have been announced.
In the Primary Schools Chutney Soca Monarch category, Janavi D. Rampersad of Preysal Government Primary School won first place, followed by Xhaiden Darius of Savonetta Private School and Celebrit-T Charles of Lower Morvant Government Primary School.
In the Secondary Schools category, Justin Sieudialsingh of Hillview College claimed the top prize, with Dabria Baptiste of Holy Faith Convent and Andria Roberts of Couva West Secondary finishing second and third.
In the Schools National Tassarama Competition, Avocat Vedic Primary School took first place in the Primary category, followed by Barrackpore Vedic Primary and Debe Hindu S.D.M.S.
Vishnu Boys won the Secondary Schools category, with Barrackpore West and Hillview College in second and third place.
Officials have commended all student performers for their dedication and achievements.
