Local secondary school students will be introduced to advanced robotics, programming and engineering design through the First Tech Challenge Pilot Program.

The program engages with students aged 12-18 in design, building and programming robots, while developing science and technology skills, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

It runs through 2026, and will culminate in a National Robotics Championships, with plans to ensure robotics clubs are embedded in all schools in Trinidad and Tobago.

The program was created by NIHERST in partnership with Shell Trinidad and Tobago.
