A 46-year-old sawmill owner was killed after a tree fell on him.
Around 9:20am yesterday, Bishen Rampersadsingh and an employee were cutting down the tree at David Jackson Trace in Siparia when it fell, trapping him.
The employee used a chainsaw to cut parts of the trunk to free Rampersadsingh who was unresponsive.
He was taken to the Siparia District Health Facility, however efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
A post mortem will be carried out today.
