Savita Singh has created history by becoming the first woman to win the International Chutney Soca Monarch title in 31 years.
Singh captured the crown at this year’s competition on Sunday night, marking a major milestone for female performers in the chutney soca arena.
Her victory ends more than three decades without a woman at the top of the prestigious contest.
Rani Rasika Dindial placed second, while Lady Lava secured third position.
Defending 2025 Chutney Soca Monarch champion Machel Montano finished in fourth place this year.
Singh’s historic win is already being hailed as a breakthrough moment for women in the genre.
