The Agriculture Ministry has confirmed the successful humane depopulation of all pigs at the North Trinidad farm affected by Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome, or PRRS.
The disposal was conducted under strict biosecurity protocols in coordination with relevant authorities.
Acting Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Lisa Musai, assured the public that local pork remains safe for consumption while Minister Ravi Ratiram thanked all involved for their professionalism.
Decontamination is ongoing, and farmers are urged to report any illness signs to the PRRS Hotline at 280-7945.
