US President Donald Trump says land routes from Venezuela carrying narcotics into the U.S. will soon face American strikes.
He made the announcement during a media conference at the White House, when asked if this military campaign was still about drugs or now about oil.
This follows a White House announcement that new sanctions on six more ships allegedly carrying Venezuelan oil, just a day after seizing a tanker off the country’s coast.
The White House said the detained vessel, the Skipper, was involved in illicit oil shipping and will be taken to an American port, where its cargo is expected to be seized after legal proceedings.
