Police target crime and illegal gaming, issues $6.7M in tax notices

Crime, contraband, and illegal gaming were targeted in coordinated police operations across Trinidad and Tobago on December 16th and 17th.

In Port of Spain, six gaming establishments and a Members Club were served BIR tax notices totalling more than $6.7 million, with one arrest made for operating an illegal gaming house.

Meanwhile in Carenage, 16 people were arrested, while a vessel carrying alcohol and cigarettes from Suriname was intercepted.

Raids in St Augustine and Caroni recovered cannabis, firearms, ammunition, and cash exceeding TT$115,000, with four individuals detained.
