A police officer and a pedestrian are in stable condition after a shooting in Tunapuna last night.
Around 7:45 p.m., officers from the North Central Division were responding to a report of an assault along Maingot and Fairley Streets.
Police say as they returned to their marked vehicle, two armed men emerged from a nearby yard and opened fire.
One officer, PC Phillip, was shot in the leg and back, while a pedestrian was hit in the shoulder. Both were taken for medical treatment.
The suspects escaped, and police are urging anyone with information to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 800-TIPS.
