Police investigate murder of two women

Police are investigating the murders of two women in separate events today.

At Windy Hill, Arouca, a pregnant woman was gunned down by men who came for her husband.

At Tunapuna, the body of a woman was found in a drain with stab wounds.

Meanwhile, fourteen persons were arrested, while two firearms, ammunition and cocaine were seized by police in the Central, Southern, and Western divisions.

In the Central Division, a woman was arrested for possession of an illegal firearm, while a man was charged with 25 counts of motor vehicle larceny.

In Curepe, four men were taken into custody, and a firearm, ammunition, and several stolen items were seized on Watts Street.

In the Western Division, two teenagers were arrested for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

In the Southern Division, six people were taken into custody for robbery with aggravation, housebreaking and larceny, and drug offences with 33 grams of cocaine seized.

Also, four men appeared before High Court Masters charged with separate house-breaking incidents reported during the past 48 hours—with the robberies occurring in Carenage, and in Tobago.
