Police have made key arrests and seized illegal firearms and ammunition during two separate operations this week.

In Santa Cruz, a 43-year-old man was arrested after officers of Operation Hope B intercepted him along Jones Trace, Quarry Road.

He was found with a revolver containing three rounds of ammunition.

And in El Dorado, North Central Task Force officers captured two men moments after an armed robbery, recovering a loaded pistol and stolen items.

Senior officers have praised the swift, coordinated police work, which continues to disrupt criminal activity and remove illegal guns from the streets.

Meanwhile, Police in the Western Division made two significant finds during operations in Diego Martin and Maraval on Wednesday.

Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., officers of the Western Division Gang and Intelligence Unit discovered 19 rounds of .38 special ammunition hidden in a yard at Tomato Trace, Diego Martin.

Later that morning, quick police action in Maraval led to the recovery of a stolen silver Toyota Aqua, reported missing just hours earlier.

The vehicle was found abandoned near a fruit mart, with its hybrid battery removed and rear glass damaged.
