Chief Secretary Farley Augustine says Tobago’s representation on the National Security Council will be discussed with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar tomorrow afternoon.
The request was first raised in November 2025, during the Prime Minister’s visit to Tobago.
Mr. Augustine told a media conference this afternoon that the matter remains a priority for the Tobago House of Assembly.
He added that he has been kept informed about a recent visit by the Ministry of Homeland Security to the new terminal at the ANR Robinson International Airport, aimed at ensuring that critical safety measures are in place.
Mr. Augustine said the current administration is actively working to strengthen coordination, unlike what he described as shortcomings under the previous administration.
