Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is urging citizens and visitors to put safety first, as Carnival 2026 reaches its peak.
In her national Carnival message, she called for responsible celebration and full cooperation with authorities.
She highlighted the TTPS Operation Secure De VIBES, with high-visibility policing, bans on weapons and glass bottles, enforcement of noise regulations, and breathalyzer testing to deter drunk driving and enhanced security at major events, beaches and rivers nationwide.
She also praised the National Carnival Commission and the Ministry of Culture for a well-executed season, highlighting the success of Flava Village in showcasing local food, artisans and small businesses.
