The Prime Minister has confirmed that the government is aiming to open the Couva Children’s Hospital next month.
She made the announcement in a statement to observe World Children’s Day today.
The PM says this day highlights the dignity and protection every child deserves, reaffirming her government’s commitment to children’s wellbeing and development.
She notes that one enduring principle of her government is that every child deserves a fair start in life and access to equal opportunity.
Since returning to office, the PM says they have expanded digital access for students, reinstated free laptops, strengthened school-safety systems, and increased paediatric mental-health services.
Mrs. Persad-Bissessar is urging the nation to listen to the voices of young people, saying their ideas must guide efforts for national development.
