Minister in the Housing Ministry, Phillip Alexander, has donated $2,000 to the T&T Chapter of Disabled Peoples’ International.
This, he says, is the amount of the fine he could have received for parking in a spot reserved for persons with disabilities.
There was public backlash after a photo shared online showed Mr Alexander parking in the spot at SuperPharm in Maraval.
This continued, despite him stating that he had been directed to the spot by a security officer.
Yesterday, he shared a video on social media, showing him at the location, presenting a cheque to the organization’s chairman Andre Herbert and secretary Usha Rampersad.
Mr Alexander insists that he had fought alongside others to get the parking spaces and apologized, stating that he was wrong.
