Designer Peter Elias and Attorney Israel Khan are among four persons who will receive honorary doctorates and fellowships from the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
The honours, which recognize outstanding contributions in law, fine arts, science and culture, will also recognize educator Jamwant Maharaj and songwriter producer Gilman Figaro.
UTT will also confer seven Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in the areas of Education, Entrepreneurship and Commercial Studies, and Health Administration.
The 2025 graduation ceremony will celebrate around 1,500 graduands, receiving undergraduate, post graduate and PhD degrees across several disciplines.
The event will be presided over by President Christine Kangaloo, on November 18th at NAPA in Port of Spain.
The awardees are:
- Mr Peter Elias – Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts
- Mr Israel Rajah-Khan, S.C. – Honorary Doctor of Laws
- Mr Jamwant Maharaj – Honorary Doctor of Science
- Mr Gilman Figaro – Honorary Distinguished Fellow
