Patriotic Front Leader Mickela Panday believes the Government’s approach amid Venezuela tensions has been “reactive rather than strategic”.
In an open letter to the Prime Minister today, Ms Panday claims statements are issued after concerns and asks if there is a “coherent, forward-looking plan to protect citizens should circumstances deteriorate.”
Calling for clearer answers, she says citizens are concerned about safety and preparedness and want greater transparency on the country’s cooperation with foreign security operations.
She adds that she is not asking for national security details, and insists that the public deserves reassurance that plans are in place to protect the country if tensions escalate.
