PAHO has handed over a major boost to Trinidad and Tobago’s maternal and child health services.
On Tuesday morning, Health Minister Dr. Lackram Bodoe received TT$280,000 worth of advanced telehealth equipment — including 10 all-in-one telehealth kits, maternal-fetal monitors, and ECG machines.
The donation will strengthen remote diagnosis and care, especially in rural communities, and support the country’s goal of eliminating mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis.
PAHO also provided 10 desktop computers, funded by the UN Office for South-South Cooperation, to enhance data collection and improve surveillance for the EMTCT programme.
