Government is set to establish an oversight committee within the Ministry of Energy to accelerate major energy projects.
Energy Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal said the unit will coordinate in real time with key stakeholders to ensure timely decision-making.
According to him, the energy sector has declined since 2016, with sharp declines in natural gas and oil production.
He added that the oversight unit was introduced, as the energy sector is key to economic growth in Trinidad and Tobago.
