Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles-Robinson is calling on the Prime Minister to explain the Government’s decision to boycott the local energy conference.

Speaking at a PNM media conference this morning, she claimed the Prime Minister is avoiding public engagement out of concern over what she described as an under-funded budget.

Mrs Beckles Robinson also criticised the Government’s recent announcement of an increase in natural gas prices.

She said the administration has failed to provide clear answers to stakeholders, warning that the move could negatively impact investments in the oil and gas sector.
