A number of nurses are currently gathered in protest at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.
For the past few days, a number reportedly stayed away from their jobs in the North Central Regional Health Authority to express their dissatisfaction with understaffing, wage issues, and general working conditions.
While there were claims of some facilities being severely understaffed, NCRHA Chairman Dr Tim Gopeesingh insisted this was not the case.
Attempts to contact Dr Gopeesingh for a statement this morning have so far been unsuccessful.
