A “Vigil for Peace” will be held in Port of Spain on November 9th, calling for the Caribbean to remain a Zone of Peace and to address growing tensions in the region.

Several groups, including the Movement for Social Justice, will gather at Woodford Square to express concerns over the US military buildup in the Caribbean.

MSJ leader David Abdulah warned that the increased military presence could destabilize the region and impact Trinidad and Tobago’s economy.

The vigil, which will take place from 5 to 7PM, will include the Concerned Muslims of TT, Emancipation Support Committee, Fishermen and Friends of the Sea and the MSJ.
