A 23-year-old man from Peytonville, Arima, has been arrested during a roving roadblock operation conducted by the Northern Division Task Force.

The exercise was carried out on Sunday in areas south of the Northern Division between ten a.m. and one p.m.

Police say the suspect was held for driving without a valid driver’s permit and without a copy of insurance.

The operation was coordinated by senior officers of the Northern Division Task Force and involved several ranks attached to the unit.

During the roadblock, officers also issued three fixed penalty notices for traffic offences, including two for not wearing seatbelts and one for breaching a traffic signal.

The Northern Division Task Force says it will continue to intensify road safety and enforcement operations and is reminding motorists to ensure they are properly licensed, insured and in full compliance with traffic laws.
