Ministry releases dates for National Schools’ Carnival Events 2026

Schoolchildren across the country will participate in four flagship events for Carnival 2026.

These are: the National Schools’ Panorama, Junior Soca Competition, the Schools’ Intellectual Carnival Chutney Soca Monarch Competition and Schools’ Tassarama Competition.

It says all the events will showcase the creativity, talent and cultural expression of students at the Primary and Secondary level.

It adds that the events are fully aligned with the Visual and Performing Arts curriculum, in which music remains a core component.

With regard to the National Schools’ Panorama, the Ministry says registration closed on January 5th and will see participation from over 40 schools.

Following the preliminary rounds, 23 schools will advance to the finals, comprising 11 Secondary Schools and 12 Primary Schools from across Trinidad and Tobago.

To support school participation, transportation assistance will be provided for pan equipment for finalist schools.
Additionally, the Ministry says complimentary transportation will be provided for students, accompanied by teachers and parents, to all National Schools’ Panorama finalists, facilitated through the PTSC.
