An inter-ministerial committee will review the Standard Means Test which determines whether people receive social support.

The Social Development Ministry says the aim is to make the assessment process faster, fairer, and more reflective of today’s cost of living.

Also, it will ensure the most vulnerable citizens receive the help they need—promptly and with dignity.

The test currently relies on data from 2016, and the team will examine whether those standards still match the country’s current economic realities.
