The Ministry of Health has warned the public against contaminated baby formula under the brand name, ByHeart Whole Nutrition, which may be linked to multiple cases on infant botulism.
The Ministry warned parents of infants who have consumed the formula to seek medical attention immediately.
Symptoms of botulism—which may take weeks to develop— include poor feeding, loss of head control, difficulty swallowing, and decreased facial expression.
The Health Ministry noted that while the product is not currently listed for sale in Trinidad and Tobago, they have issued the advisory out of an abundance of caution.
