Health Minister Dr. Lackram Bodoe today conducted an in-depth review of the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, aiming to boost efficiency and patient care.
Accompanied by Dr. Rishad Seecheran, Minister in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Bodoe met with hospital management and technical staff to assess workflow, operational needs, and resource requirements to enhance the lab’s capacity for managing cardiac patients.
The visit also included discussions with Dr. Tim Gopeesingh, Chairman of the North Central Regional Health Authority, and senior Ministry officials including Permanent Secretary Asif Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary Stephen Boodhram, and Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr. Jeanine St. Bernard.
The Ministry said the assessment reflects its commitment to optimising specialised services, ensuring patient safety, and strengthening public cardiac care while engaging constructively with all stakeholders to maintain continuity of care.
