A man was killed and a woman injured during a police-involved shooting in St Augustine yesterday.
According to reports, the incident occurred during a high speed chase that began near Maloney shortly after midday.
The occupants of the white Toyota Aqua allegedly opened fire on the officers, who shot back.
The car then crashed in a shallow drain at the corner of Dookiesingh Street and Bassie Street Extension.
A male occupant of the vehicle, identified by Guardian Media as Joshua Samaroo, died at the hospital in Mount Hope, while a female occupant remains in critical condition.
