A magnitude 4.0 earthquake shook parts of Trinidad early this morning, according to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre.
The quake occurred at 7:14 a.m. local time, with a depth of 23 kilometres.
Its epicenter was located at latitude 10.24 North and longitude 61.88 West, about 46 kilometres west of San Fernando, 62 kilometres southwest of Port of Spain, and 80 kilometres southwest of Arima.
No immediate reports of damage or injuries have been received.
Authorities are monitoring the situation, and residents are advised to stay alert for any aftershocks.
