Soca superstar Machel Montano’s album One Degree Hotter has been named on Billboard’s Top 10 Caribbean Albums of 2025.
His latest LP was placed at Number 6 on the chart, above Popcaan’s, Nothing Without God.
In a post celebrating the achievement, Montano thanked the Billboard staff, adding that album’s success is just the beginning and promised more music for 2026.
Billboard’s article also highlighted Montano’s performance on January 13, where icon delivered NPR’s first-ever soca Tiny Desk set.
One Degree Hotter was released on February 25th and features 16 tracks, including collaborations with artistes such as Davido, Lady Lava and Drupatee Ramgoonai.
In Rolling Stones article earlier this year, Montano said “One Degree Hotter is a double entendre, it marks my Master’s degree, but also my mission to turn up the heat on my music and take it to the corners of the globe.”
