Six minors are among 16 Venezuelans held in Santa Flora.
Between 10am and 2pm yesterday, officers went to the Beach Camp area along Beach Road in Palo Seco, where they saw several individuals fleeing toward the shoreline and into nearby bushes.
A subsequent search led to the detention of 16 persons, none of whom were able to produce legal travel documents.
There were seven adult females between the ages of 19 and 45, three adult males between the ages 24 and 27, and six minors, between 5 months and 6 years.
All were taken to the Santa Flora and Erin Police Stations, with the Immigration Division and Children’s Authority notified as well.
