The Children’s Authority has called on parents to keep their children a priority during the Christmas vacation.
CEO of the Authority Sheldon Cyrus stated in a media release that children should be priority despite the “lengthy to-do lists and all the associated activities of the festive season.”
Mr Cyrus said it is easy for parents to get caught up in the preparation for Christmas, and he called on the nation’s parents to “never be distracted from their primary duty as caregivers.”
He said that children protection is everybody’s business, adding that we all have a duty to report any abuse towards children to the police at 999 or the Authority at 996.
