All doctors in India must now write prescriptions in capital letters.
A BBC News report said this is the latest directive from the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The order comes after a judge found a Government doctor’s handwritten report completely illegible during a criminal case.
He called it “shocking” and warned that unreadable prescriptions can mean the difference between life and death.
The court says a legible prescription is a fundamental right, and has urged the government to introduce handwriting lessons in medical schools, while giving two years to shift to digital prescriptions.
