An early-morning accident has caused a major traffic backup this morning, along the north-bound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway near Chaguanas.
Police at the Chaguanas Station confirmed the crash happened near ANSA Motors, where social media footage showed a truck partially submerged in a drain and another vehicle badly damaged.
Emergency responders were on scene managing the incident.
By around 6:35 this morning, 103.1FM News received confirmation that the highway had been reopened.
While there have been no confirmed fatalities at this time, video footage from the scene shows that there are injuries.
