Guyana is now officially “the world’s largest oil producer per capita.”

According to online site OilNow.gy, the country’s output rose to 900,000 barrels per day on November 12th, placing it ahead of all other oil-producing nations, when production is measured relative to population.

This marks a and projections indicate total production could reach 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030.

With just 750,000 citizens, the country now produces more than one barrel of oil per person every day — a ratio unmatched anywhere else in the world.

The milestone was confirmed, following the full ramp-up of production across the Stabroek Block developments.
